Topic: Status of JSCert?

Is it kind of dead? I looked at its Github repository and latest change is 7 years old (except for README file with 4 years).

parts of JSCert live on in JsAst: https://github.com/querycert/jsast

Very small parts ... I also find it a pitty that JSCert bit rots. There are meanwhile tools to fill some gaps it had. E.g. it should be easy to create a certified JavaScript parser with menhir.

Maybe we should collect some money and offer bounties for bringing interesting bit rotting project to latest Coq.

I would donate to such fundraiser (at least for JSCert), but I'm not very rich and can't offer much each month. :(

@Lessness: do you think such funds should be raised per project or to form a fund and a commitee decides which projects to do? The advantage of being flexible here is that one still needs to find people willing to do this for a specific project, and flexibility makes it more likely that funding and interest mach. The downside might be that less people might be interested to supply funds without being specific.

@John Mercer : how do you see the connection to the Math Genome Project? Do you plan to cover "computer science" like this in it?

Did I get it right that this kind of fund raising / funding is part of (or even the core idea) of the Math Genome Project?

@Michael Soegtrop That's too complex question for me. I just don't know.

But the committee case feels better for the long term... That's my feeling only, though, not completely sure.

I would donate in both cases, probably.
