For the record, you don't need to ask @Cyril Cohen I found how you can move a stream to another topic.
you mean a topic to another stream? how?
Oh, I found too :D
Yes, sorry. Cf. this menu which you can access from the left-bar 2020-05-08-160412_571x176_scrot.png
is it available only to us admins or to any user?
How do I know?
@Christian Doczkal are you still around can you tell us?
I cannot do it so I guess it's just you.
Thanks :)
But users can still modify the topic of a given message, or not?
I think so

I think just for their messages though, @Théo Winterhalter can you confirm ?
do you have a little pen next to "Miscellaneous >Stream creation and naming policy [HERE]" ?
Yes I can change the topic when answering but I think it just will create a separate topic.
No I just have the bell to mute.
And for your own message, you should also have a little pen icon, you should be able to edit your own message
Yep
an can you modify your own topic ?
Seems I can, and it affects also answers but then they are considered a different topic.
not only your own then, but everyone would subsequently replied to you....
Yes, and I can add it back by editing the subject again.

Which, I may add, is really confusing if one is looking at this branched off topic when it disappears ;)
It seems that the old names remain on the left with just no messages.
until you refresh
On thing I keep noticing, renaming a stream seems to unmute it for everyone (at least I have just seen a stream getting renamed several times, and each time I had to mute it again).
Do you mean stream or topics?
I suppose you mean topics and this is most inconvenient since this happens often!
Yes I meant topics sorry.
@Cyril Cohen Maybe worth an issue report to Zulip. WDYT?
Sure
I think this is a side effect of a feature though... if you mute a topic and someone takes a message out of it by renaming its topic, you should be able to see it "unmuted". I guess the problem occurred when one renamed an entire topic (which should seldom happen). Which is the guilty topic?
It was the "Windows build issue" which I think go renamed twice.
I submitted to zulip/zulip#15210 anyway, we'll see to which of a feature or bug this pertains.
Could someone rename "Fiat-crypto" to either "Fiat-Crypto" or "fiat-crypto" (whichever is more in line with the current conventions), or tell me how to rename it?
